obesity

Dear Mr. President,

My name is Bob Elfin. I am a student at Parkway West Middle and I am writing to you today to share my thoughts about obesity. I was browsing through different databases when I came across this topic, obesity. Thinking that it looked like a worthwhile topic, I clicked on it. What I found out shocked me to my bare bones. Obesity has statistics behind it that make it very scary, and it's constantly growing! This growing threat could grow to wipe out an 8th of the population or worse! The least we can do is address the problem and address a plausible solution for this problem.

Obesity is a humongous topic with countless aspects that are taking life after life each day. In fact every day, about 438 people die due to obesity, that's about 160,000 deaths a year and this threat is still growing. Also, this crisis has spread so quickly, that 2/3 of the population is either obese overweight! This has gone too far and must be stopped, before any other soul becomes part of this majority!

I understand that we as the U.S have already made some steps in order to address this situation. Manufacturers have made a pledge to provide kids with more nutritious food choices. Also government officials have been thinking about putting a tax on soda. However this is not enough! We as the U.S must all make a change together. We must change our eating, exercise, etc.in order to purge this country of this crisis. We can do this! Please do whatever in your power to address this to the general public! There is still a chance to end this Obesity pandemic!

Thank you for the time you took in reading this letter. I hope you can turn this around before it gets out of control. I hate to think of the 438 people who just died because of obesity.

Sincerely,

Bob Elfin
