Abolish Abortion

3/15/12

Dear Mr. President

My name is William. I am a student at Parkway West Middle school, and I am writing you today to share my thoughts about abortion. I became interested in this topic because my grandpa and some cousins go to Washington D.C. for the "March for Life" every year.

To begin, most people think a fetus is not fully formed, and they don't consider it to be a real person until the fetus starts forming features. This is faulty thinking. According to Linda Lowen, a former journalist, all life begins at conception, so aborting a child should be considered murder. When a mother aborts her child, she is committing a crime without the consequences. Clearly there should be a law against abortion.

Secondly, even if the parents don't want the child, they could let him or her live and put the child up for adoption instead of depriving that child of its life. Furthermore, there are 1.5 million people that are waiting to adopt a child, so no child would go unwanted if the parents put the child up for adoption. Obviously there are more than enough people to adopt any "unwanted" children in America.

Mr. President, I ask that you work to abolish abortion so there will not be so many unborn casualties in this country today.

Thank you, Mr. President , for all of the time and effort you have put into making our country a better place.

Sincerely,

William
